Tennis loses but Mullen continues to win

LEICESTER, Mass. - In their second New England Collegiate Conference match of the season, the Lesley University women's tennis team was defeated 6-2 by the Hawks.  Their season record is now 1-3 (0-2 NECC).

Lesley recorded just two victories the entire match; one in the number one singles match and the other in the number three doubles match.

In the number one singles match, Courtney Mullen (SPRINGFIELD, Ore./Marist) won in straight sets over her counterpart by a score of 6-2, 6-4.  Mullen is now 3-1 on the season in number one singles play including 2-0 against NECC opponents.  Her conference victories came against Newbury College and Becker College.

In the number three doubles match, Caroline Cingari (STAMFORD, Conn./Westhill) and newcomer Michelle Side were victorious 8-4.  Cingari is now 3-1 in doubles play out of the number three spot.

Lesley will host NECC foe Mitchell College on Thursday, September 24 starting at 6:00 pm.
