WATERVILLE, Me. - The women's soccer team gave an impressive offensive and defensive performance against Thomas College en route to their second victory of the season, winning 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, the Lynx improve to 2-0-0 (0-0-0 NECC).
The two teams were at a stalemate for much of the first half until junior Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) netted her fourth goal of the season in the game's 38th minute.
Sophomore Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.) extended the slim 1-0 lead in the second half with her first goal of the season at 50:07.
The Lynx would continue to apply pressure to the Terriers defense with two more goals in the second half. Jodi Fralick scored her second goal of the game on an assist from fellow captain Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) and sister Jenna Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) beat her defender one-on-one to beat the keeper for her first career collegiate goal.
Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) never faced a shot on goal from Thomas as she recorded her first shutout of the 2008 season.
The Lynx will be in action again this weekend in two home matches. Saturday, the team will face Rivier College at 1:00 pm for the Lynx Fall Kick-Off, an event held by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to welcome all Lesley students to campus. Sunday, Lesley will play Johnson State College at 12:00 pm.
