CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Two overtimes were not enough to break the tie between Lesley University and Elms College.

Lesley striker Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) snuck the ball past the Elms keeper Shannon Donnelly at 76:48 to put the Lynx on top in the second half.  Sarah Etzel (Manorville, N.Y.) led Fralick with a soft chip pass to get the assist as Donnelly could not beat the speedy striker to the ball.

The Lynx were well on their way to a hard-earned victory with less than a minute left when Blazers' sophomore striker Krystyna Gagne shook off her defender and blasted the ball past Lesley goalie Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) at 89:05.  Regulation time ended and the teams headed into the first overtime tied 1-1.

Gagne had a chance to be the hero again in the third minute of the first overtime as she sent a strong right foot towards the goal but Lowe made a tremendous save.  Stifling defense from Lynx backs Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.) and Luisa Florez (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) helped to suppress any offensive threats from the Blazers.

The second and final overtime had several opportunities for both teams with Lesley forward Christina Corso (Shoreham, N.Y.) and Elms midfielder Serina Percoski barely missing game-winning goals, respectively.

Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos spoke about his team's chances of winning their first North Atlantic Conference league game, "I knew going into this game that we were a different team than previous years.  The last few times we played Elms, we've had a lot of trouble.  It is great to see how far this program has come and I know we are going to be a competitive force in this league."

In the end the Lynx out shot the Blazers 22-13 while the Blazers took twice as many corner kicks, 12-6.  The game, however, ended with a 1-1 tie and both teams exhausted from the hard fought battle.
