Lesley Women's Basketball Begin Post-Season at Becker

Cambridge, Mass-The Lesley University Women's Basketball team concluded their 2017-2018 regular season with an overall record of 4-21 with all four of their wins coming over the course of their 12 conference games.

Only two of the Lynx squad saw action in all of the 25 games so far this season; freshman Karyn McEvoy and sophomore Dakota Jones. Jones is high up in a couple of individual categories in the NECC (New England Collegiate Conference). The forward is second in rebounds per game with 12.5 and third in field goal percentage with 48.6%. Senior Theresa Pereira is third in the NECC 3-point percentage category with 29.8%.

Lesley has had no luck so far against their NECC Tournament first round opponent, Becker College who earned the 3 seed in the Championship Tournament. The Hawks were victorious at home against the Lynx on January 27 when they won 71-49 and they followed up by winning in Cambridge on February 5 50-38. The young Lynx look to show their resilience and competitiveness in the opening round of the tournament on Tuesday evening.

On Thursday, February 15, the Lesley Athletics Sports Information Office held a press conference with head coach Jake Mattleman and his three captains to get their thoughts as they enter the NECC Tournament.  Please view the complete video below:
