    LOUISVILLE, Ken. – For the second straight season, Lesley University’s Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) has been honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as she has been named to the All-New England Second Team. The designation comes one week after Golden was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – A year after being named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year, Lesley University sophomore Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) has been named 2015 NECC Player of the Year and placed on the NECC All-Conference First Team. Junior Selena Quezada (West Covina, Calif.) and freshman Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) joined Golden on the All-Conference Team as they both were voted to the Second Team.
  • Softball's Season Comes to an End in NECC Tournament

    WESTON, Mass. – Fifth-seeded Lesley University feel to fourth-seed Newbury College, 4-2, in the first round of the New England Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament, Tuesday evening on the campus of Regis College. Lesley’s season comes to a close with an overall record of 13-19 while Newbury improves to 19-11 on the season and will travel to New London, Conn. to battle top-seeded Mitchell College on Friday morning.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Becker College spoiled Lesley University’s home finale as the Hawks used scores of 4-2 and 9-7 to sweep a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader over the Lynx this afternoon at Buckingham Field. The pair of losses drops the Lynx to 13-18 overall and 10-8 in the NECC while the Hawks improve to 17-12 in the regular season and 13-5 in the conference.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University dropped game one of a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader 5-1 to Elms College this afternoon at Buckingham Field. Game two traveled into extras and play was halted in the top of the 12th inning with the Blazers holding a 12-9 lead. Play will resume tomorrow morning at 11:00a at Buckingham Field.
  • Offensive Explosion Leads Softball to Split at DWC

    NASHUA, N.H. – After dropping the opening game 4-3, the Lesley University offense kicked into high gear as they exploded for a season-high 23 runs to top host Daniel Webster College 23-2 in the nightcap to earn the split on the day. The Eagles conclude their home schedule as they move to 5-19 overall and 3-13 in the NECC while the Lynx move to 13-14 overall and 10-4 in the conference.
  • Softball's Bats Fuel Sweep at Regis

    WESTON, Mass. – Lesley University scored a combined 22 runs on 27 hits as the Lynx swept Regis College in a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader on Tuesday night. The Lynx, who improved to 12-13 overall and 9-3 in the NECC won game one, 12-4, in five innings before rallying for a 10-3 win in the nightcap over the Pride, who drop to 8-13 on the year and an even 7-7 in the conference.

The Lynx utilized the run-rule in both games as they took a 10-0 decision in game one while earning a 13-4 triumph in game two.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University earned a pair of wins as they swept a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Newbury College this afternoon at Buckingham Field. Lesley topped Newbury 8-4 in the day’s opening game before hanging on for a 5-4 victory in the nightcap. The Lynx, who are now winners of three straight, improve to 7-12 on the season and 4-2 in NECC play while the Nighthawks drop to 9-11 overall and 4-6 in the conference.

The Lions earned the sweep in the regular season two-game series as they improve to 11-14 on the year while the Lynx drop to 4-11 overall.

The Lynx rolled to an 11-0 win in five innings in the opener before rallying for a 6-2 win in seven innings to complete the sweep.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Emerson College freshman Jillian Gearin (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI and a run scored to power the Lions past Lesley University 8-0 in six innings this evening at Rotch Field in a non-conference affair. The win improves the Lions to 8-12 on the year while the Lynx, playing for just the second time since March 19th and the first time in the past 11 days, fall to 2-8 in 2015.
  • Framingham State Shuts Down Softball

    FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Junior Natasha Arseneau (Waltham, Mass.) tossed a complete game five-inning no hitter as the Framingham State University softball team defeated Lesley University 11-0 this afternoon in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. The second game of the doubleheader was postponed because of inclement weather. The Rams are now 2-9 on the year, while the Lynx move to 2-7.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – After their first week of play, Lesley University sophomore Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and freshman Courtney Goggin (Cheshire, Conn.) have been recognized by the New England Collegiate Conference as the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Roger Crosley, made the announcement today in the conference Weekly Report.

    CLERMONT, Fla. – Lesley University used a six run fifth inning to power themselves to a 9-1 victory over Babson College in six innings in game one of their southern trip finale this morning at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The Lynx fell victim to an 11-0 defeat in the second game of their doubleheader against Plattsburgh State and will return to Cambridge with a 2-6 record.

Fountain, who is currently enrolled in her first year of graduate school here at Lesley, has been a cornerstone of the softball program for the past three years.

The Lynx accumulated six first place tallies and 87 out of a possible 90 total points to take the top ranking in the Preseason Poll for the seventh straight season.
