CAMBRIDGE, Mass – Lesley Men's Soccer saw their five-game win streak come to an end with a 4-1 setback against Suffolk University on Sunday morning at Danehy Park in Cambridge.  With the loss, the Lynx drop to 8-7-1 on the season.  Suffolk improves to 8-6-1 overall.

Christian Restrepo (Everett, Mass) and James Fisher (Longmeadow, Mass) led the offensive charge for Suffolk.  Within the first ten minutes of the match, the pair linked up to score on two separate occasions.  Restrepo displayed some shifty foot-work to assist Fisher for both goals.  Restrepo continued his fine play in the first half, adding a goal of his own during the eleventh minute mark.  Jason Castro (Everett, Mass) executed an excellent ball that set-up Restrepo for the scoring chance.  At the thirty-ninth-minute, Sal Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass) scored on a penalty-shot following a Lesley foul to conclude the scoring for the Rams.

In the second-half Lesley stymied Suffolk's offensive attack with stellar defense from goal-keeper James Webb (San Francisco, Calif) and defender Ben Heischuber (Holliston, Mass).  Webb recorded six saves during the second half including an excellent diving stop on an indirect free kick from Suffolk.  In the forty-eighth-minute, Heischuber got the Lynx on the board with a goal and was assisted by Anthony Vitta (Oceanside, N.Y.).  Lesley's second-half surge was not enough to overcome the first-half deficit, resulting in a final score of 4-1.

"It was a tough match against a good GNAC team,"  said Head Coach James Costa.  "Our lack of organization on our backline in the first fifteen minutes of the match did us in.  I came away very encouraged with the work rate and committment from our freshmen and am excited for them.  In the second half we were much more organized and our young guys led by example.

The Lynx will travel to Mitchell College for an NECC matchup on Wednesday, October 25th for a 2:30 PM start.  Suffolk will host Fitchburg State on Tuesday, October 24th for a match starting at 7:00 PM.
