CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Regis College sophomores Amandio Ferreira (Dorchester, Mass.) and Dillon Lanctot (Somersworth, N.H.) each scored a goal and added an assist as the fifth-seeded Pride blanked fourth-seed Lesley University 3-0 in a New England Collegiate Conference Quarterfinal matchup tonight at Edward Field.

The Pride will continue to the Semifinal Round for the second consecutive season as they will square off with top-seed and defending champion Daniel Webster College at 2:00p on Friday in Nashua, N.H. The Lynx see their season come to a close with an 8-10-0 record.

In other NECC action, third-seeded Newbury College also advanced to the Semifinals after defeating sixth-seed Mitchell College this afternoon 2-0. The Nighthawks will travel to Elms College for a battle with the No. 2 seed Blazers at 7:00p on Friday.

Regis capitalized early in the first on the heels of a Lesley foul just outside of their own 18-yard box. Ferriera sent a free kick from the left side to the far right post where fellow sophomore Collin Thurston (Temecula, Calif.) connected with a header that bounced off the post and ricocheted into the back of the net to give the guests a 1-0 lead at 11:41.

The Lynx nearly answered with a pair of corner kicks just ten minutes later. Harrison Sidell's (Newhall, Calif.) initial cross found Billy Baker (Sacramento, Calif.) who laced a left-footed drive from 20 yards out but Regis keeper Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.) punched the ball wide for a second opportunity from the corner for the hosts.

Regis quickly nullified the attempt and went on the attack. Dillon Lanctot quickly dribbled the ball upfield and past the Lynx backline and potted the breakaway into the lower left corner of the goal to stake a 2-0 lead that the Pride would take into halftime.

Lesley threated right out of the gate in the second half. Junior Colin Zeigler (Waldmohr, Germany) dribbled down the right sideline and sent a cross to the middle of the box to find Ryan Richardson (Santa Barbara, Calif.), but the senior's one-timed attempt went wide of the Pride cage.

The Pride answered with their third goal of the night just five minutes later when Ferreira finished a feed from Lanctot from 10 yards out to claim the 3-0 advantage.

Regis outshot their hosts 11-8 on the night while Lesley held a slim 3-2 edge on corner kick opportunities. The match was riddled with stoppages as the teams combined for 36 fouls and five yellow cards.

The NECC Championship match will be held on Sunday on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
