  • Men's Soccer Earns No. 4 Seed in NECC Tournament, Hosts Regis on Wednesday

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team has earned the No. 4 seed in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship tournament and will host fifth-seeded Regis College on Wednesday at 8:00p at Edward Field. This marks the eighth straight season that the Lynx have qualified for the postseason tournament.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 4-1 win over Southern Vermont College in New England Collegiate Conference play this afternoon at Edward Field. The win locks the Lynx into the fourth seed for this week’s NECC tournament as they improve to 8-9-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the conference. The Mountaineers finish their season with a 4-14-0 record, including a 2-6-0 mark in NECC play.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team deposited their second straight New England Collegiate Conference win as they ran away from Wheelock College with a 6-0 win on a Sunday matinee at Winsor Field. Lesley junior Mahmoud Chabarek (Allepo, Syria) registered the first hat-trick of his career to lead the Lynx offense, which found the back of the net five times in the opening half.

Winners of three of their last four matches, the Lynx improve to 4-7-0 on the season while the Gators drop to 7-4-1 overall.

The winning result improves the Lynx to 3-7-0 on the year as they have now won two of their last three matches. The Raiders drop to 1-8-0 overall with the loss.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Wentworth Institute of Technology scored an early goal in the fifth minute of play and added an insurance tally late in the second half sink the Lesley University men’s soccer team 2-0 tonight on the road at Sweeney Field. With the win the Leopards improve to 7-3 while the Lynx fall to 2-7.

    WESTON, Mass. – Lesley University senior Tyler Zielinski (Belleville, N.J.) scored a goal in the 17th minute of the game that stood up as the lone tally and eventual game-winner as the Lynx picked up a 1-0 New England Collegiate Conference victory on the road at Regis College. Zielinski scored on a one-timer following a rebound on a shot from Chris Anderson (San Francisco, Calif.) to deposit his first marker of the season.

    BOSTON, Mass. – For the third time in as many years the Charles River Cup will exchange hands as Emerson College topped Lesley University 2-1 in the ninth annual battle between the two schools. Senior Dan Knight (Chester Springs, Pa.) provided both tallies for the hosts as the Lions reclaim the cup for the first time since 2013.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University junior Chris Anderson (San Francisco, Calif.) notched what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 13th minute of action as the Lynx registered their first win of 2015 with a 2-0 shutout of Suffolk University tonight at Edward Field. The Lynx improve to 1-4-0 on the season while the Rams drop to 0-4-1 in 2015 with the loss.

Beavers sophomore Justin Kaplan (Medway, Mass.) scored twice and junior Shane Mandel (Syosset, N.Y.) contributed a goal and an assist to power the Babson offense as the hosts improve to 3-1-0 in 2015. The loss drops the Lynx to 0-4-0 on the young season.

  • 90th Minute Penalty Kick Sinks Men's Soccer at Mt. Ida

    NEWTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men’s soccer team fell to a 2-1 decision in heartbreak fashion on the road tonight at Mt. Ida College in a non-conference affair. With the score tied 1-1 in the 90th minute, the Lynx were called for a takedown in their own box, giving the hosts a penalty kick with just 41 seconds left on the clock. Mt. Ida senior Luke Pugsley (Milton, Mass.) buried the free attempt into the left side of the goal to give the Mustangs the 2-1 win.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University was picked to finish third in the New England Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll following a vote from the conference head coaches. The Lynx are coming off a year in 2014 that was capped in the ECAC Semifinals following a trip to the NECC Semifinals in the conference tournament.
