Ryan Pumphret Collects All-Region Honors

Cambridge, Mass. – Senior Ryan Pumphret (Shrewsbury, MA), landed on the 2019 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-New England Region Second Team, as a designated hitter, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Tuesday afternoon. Pumphret was also named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association's (NEIBA) Division III All-New England Second Team, as a designated hitter.

The NCAA Div. III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee. Pumphret is one of five representatives from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) to receive an all-region selection. Last season, Pumphret was selected to the All-New England Region Third Team.

  • Pumphret led the Lynx offensively during the season. The senior put together a .412 batting average along with 47 hits, eight doubles, nine home runs, 25 RBI's, a .719 slugging percentage, and a .507 on-base percentage.
  • Pumphret finishs a Lesley career with 172 hits, 108 RBI's, 32 home runs, and a career batting average of .359. Pumphret contributed to the Lynx first ever NECC Conference Championship in 2017, and has recieved the 2019 Lesley University Male Athlete of the Year. 
  • Amongst the NECC, Pumphret ranked high in many statistical categories. Pumphret was outright leader in SLG and the co-leader in homeruns. Meanwhile, Pumphret placed top five in the conference in AVG, and OBP. Pumphret's tremendous season earned two All-Conference honors (1st team at Designated Hitter and 2nd team at First Base), and a spot on NECC All-Tournament team.
  • Pumphret will represent Lesley in the NEIBA All-Star game, on Friday May 31. The game will take place at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford, CT, with the game beginning at noon.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Americans will be announced the evening of Thursday, May 30. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 19.
