Lynx Beaten by Lancers, 12-3

GAME OVERVIEW:

Auburndale, FL. – Lesley University baseball couldn't handle the offense of Worcester State in a 12-3 loss, Thursday afternoon in Auburndale, Florida. The Lynx drop to 1-4 overall, while the Lancers improve to 4-2 on the season.

LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Ryan Pumphret (Shrewsbury, MA.) got things started with a sacrifice fly to left to bring home Vincent Taliercio (Valley Stream, N.Y.). This put the Lynx up 1-0 midway through the first.
  • After the Lancers took a lead 3-1 in the bottom of the first, Will Rhone (North Haven, CT.) brought in a run on a fielder's choice. The Lancers opened up with five runs coming in the bottom of the second, to take a 8-2 lead.
  • Lesley picked up a run in the in the third from a Matt Bavaro (Sayville, N.Y.) single to bring home Ian Spillane (Chula Vista, CA.). Lancers would add four more runs over the next few innings.
  • Bavaro lead the Lynx with three hits and an RBI, while Taliercio picked up two hits and scored a run. Collectively the Lynx accounted for 12 hits.

The Lynx (1-4) return to the diamond on Friday, March 15, for a double-header against William Paterson at 10:30PM and 1:00PM in Auburndale, Florida.
