  • Muratore Named NECC Rookie of the Year; Polidor, Parson Earn Honors

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) has been announced as the 2015 New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year. Muratore, who was honored with the award following a vote of the league’s coaches, was also placed on the NECC Second Team All-Conference. Joining him with Second Team honors is junior Gustavo Polidor (Caracas, Venezuela) and senior Rob Parson (Commack, N.Y.).

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – For the second straight day Lesley University traveled into extra innings and found themselves on the losing end as the Lynx saw their season come to a close after a 6-4 loss to Becker College in a New England Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament elimination game today at Mitchell’s Alumni Field.

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – Trailing 6-2 in the ninth Lesley University scored four runs to force extra innings but saw their comeback effort fall short as Elms College freshman Zach Lawrence (Colchester, Conn.) singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Blazers the 7-6 victory in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship opener for both schools.

    OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine – Lesley University swept a non-conference doubleheader with University of Maine Presque Isle this afternoon at the historic Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The Lynx slugged out 17 hits in a 9-1 win in the opener before staving off an Owls comeback attempt to take game two 7-4.

    QUINCY, Mass.- Lesley University saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as Eastern Nazarene College took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon at Bradley Field. The Lions earned a 7-4 win in the opener before senior Brandon Wells (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout to secure the 6-0 for the hosts in game two.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – New England Collegiate Conference Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Roger Crosley, has announced Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) as the Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 26th. This is the second weekly honor for Muratore as he earned NECC Rookie of the Week honors back on March 23rd.
  • Baseball Completes Weekend Sweep of Becker with Wild Win on Sunday

    ROCHDALE, Mass. – Lesley University completed their first-ever series sweep of Becker College in a wild 17-16 win on Sunday afternoon in Rochdale, Mass. After holding an 8-4 lead in the fifth inning, the Lynx had to battle back to score seven runs in the eighth inning to force extra innings before scoring a pair in the top of the tenth to secure the win.
  • Baseball Walks Off, Sweeps Becker on Senior Night

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University battled to a pair of wins over Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference play tonight at Trum Memorial Stadium. The Lynx used an Adam Ciampi (Westford, Mass.) walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to take game one 3-2 before breaking out for a 10-2 victory in the nightcap.
  • UMass Boston Clings to Early Lead to Top Baseball

    BROCKTON, Mass. – Lesley University dropped a non-conference affair to UMass Boston 9-4 this afternoon at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass. Freshman Steve Witkowski (Pittsfield, Mass.) pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out two and allowing just two hits to earn his first win of the season to propel the Beacons to 14-12 on the season. The loss drops the Lynx to 8-19 overall.
  • Baseball Falls to Mitchell in Series Finale

    HAVERHILL, Mass. – Mitchell College completed the three game sweep of Lesley University as the Mariners clipped the Lynx 6-2 in the New England Collegiate Conference three game series finale this afternoon at Trinity Stadium in Haverhill, Mass. With the win, the Mariners improve to 20-3 on the season and 11-1 in the NECC while the loss drops the Lynx to 8-18 overall and 5-9 in conference play.

    HOLYOKE, Mass. – The Elms College baseball was unable to overcome an eighth-inning rally from Lesley University, falling to the Lynx, 6-4, in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) game at MacKenzie Stadium Tuesday evening. The Blazers dropped to 8-11 on the season with a 3-6 mark in NECC, while Lesley improved to 8-15 overall, and 5-6 in the NECC.

    HAVERHILL, Mass. – Southern Vermont College avenged yesterday’s 9-3 loss and swept both ends of today’s New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader over Lesley University as the Mountaineers take the regular season series 2-1. SVC topped Lesley 5-1 in game one before taking a 10-4 decision in game two in what was a gorgeous day at Trinity Stadium.

    PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) continued his stellar rookie season as he went 8.2 IP and struck out a career-high 11 as the Lynx came from behind to top Southern Vermont College 9-3 this afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action. Muratore limited the Mountaineers to just five hits and three runs (one earned) and walked just three as he improves to 4-1 on the year.

    QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team erased a one-run deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning, utilizing a five-run outburst to propel the Lions to a 7-4 non-conference win over Lesley University in a cold, rain soaked afternoon at Bradley Field.The victory lifts the Lions to 6-14 on the season and snaps a seven-game skid. The Lynx fall to 6-13 overall with the result.

    AUBURN, Mass. – Fitchburg State University defeated Lesley University 5-2 in a non-conference tilt on Thursday night in Auburn, Mass. The Falcons improve to 7-5 with the win while the loss drops the Lynx to 6-12 on the year. FSU Junior designated hitter Steven Drury Jr. (Leominster, Mass.) powered the offense for the hosts as he finished 2-for-5 with three RBI and a two-run homer in the winning effort.

Elms junior Tom Weldon (Springfield, Mass.) threw a complete game shutout as the Blazers took game one 3-0 before holding off a late-inning rally to prevail with a 5-4 victory in game two.

MCLA’s 4-3 extra-inning win came after topping Lesley 10-1 in the first game of the afternoon.
