About SAAC
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a NCAA mandated advisory group meets monthly during the academic year to promote leadership and facilitate the athletes’ voice in the Athletic Department. This group is made up of student-athletes from every varsity athletic program. Athletes represent the University at an annual NAC Conference meeting each year to discuss relevant issues regarding athletes.
Mission Statement
The mission of the NCAA and Lesley University's SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. The Lesley SAAC is responsible for:
- Promoting communication between the Athletic administration and student-athletes;
- Disseminating information;
- Providing feedback and insight into Athletics Department issues;
- Generating a student-athlete voice within policies formulation specific to Athletics;
- Building a sense of community with the athletics program involving all athletics teams;
- Soliciting student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation;
- Organizing community service efforts;
- Creating a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees (ie, student government);
- Promoting a positive student-athlete image on campus.
